Director of Nursing
The Director of Nursing will facilitate and administer care to Crescent Cove children and families on a comprehensive basis that includes medical, psychosocial and spiritual needs. The Director of Nursing will manage patient intake, admissions, transfers, discharges, medical equipment and be responsible for Medical Records, Compliance and Quality Improvement. The Director of Nursing will assist in establishing the necessary clinical policies and procedures and ensure proper training of all clinical staff who work with Crescent Cove families and community partners to ensure that families are accessing services that aid in relief of pain, stress and anxiety in fulfillment of the mission.

Karla Vaughan’s role as Office Manager supports both Bob Tift, President and Katie Lindenfelser, Founder of Crescent Cove in their execution of administrative, communications, record keeping, and event planning tasks. She performs clerical duties such as data entry, filing, scheduling, record keeping and documentation and is responsible for inbound and outbound correspondence (phone/email/written) with donors, partners, volunteers, board members and suppliers. As Crescent Cove works to build this much needed home, we are currently providing some care and support to families in our community. This support includes integrative therapies to families referred by pediatric palliative care clinicians, respite weekends and developing an online support group.

On this journey to build a long-awaited residential children’s hospice and respite home in Minnesota, the urgency grows each day as we meet more families who could use this home. Many of you have journeyed with us for a myriad of reasons. Some of you know the need after having said good-bye in this world to your beloved child. Others are caring for a child whose life may be short, is intense and more meaningful than you can describe. For some it is simply that your heart draws you to take action, to make a difference. Our effort to build this home has peaks and valleys. Our celebrations and forks in the road cannot compare to the experience of our families of children with shortened life expectancies. However, we do share the experience of facing a challenge that is more than we imagined, yet filled with an abundance of joy and love. For everyone involved in our mission, we are reminded to keep going, ‘Onward.’
