Education
As one of a handful of children’s respite and hospice homes in the United States, Crescent Cove embraces its role as a learning site for future pediatric palliative care professionals. We offer internships and clinical placements for students in nursing, occupational therapy, social work, and medical school. We currently partner with the following schools in providing placement to complete BSN education requirements:
- Herzing University
- St. Catherine’s University
- University of North Dakota
- University of Minnesota
- Bethel University in St. Paul, Minnesota
- Concordia University
If you are interested in a clinical internship or capstone project at Crescent Cove, please contact our Director of Nursing, Kathryn Koehne.
Pediatric Palliative Care Symposiums
Each year we host a Pediatric Palliative Care Symposium, bringing together families, practitioners, nurses, and others who support children with complex medical conditions. At this day-long conference, presenters speak about the unique needs of medically fragile children and their families. Not only is this conference eligible for CEUs and CMEs, but it is also a beautiful way to connect with others who live with and care for medically fragile children.
Speaking Engagements
We are honored to have staff members be invited to speak at professional conferences on the topic of pediatric palliative care, music therapy, social work, and more. Here are some of the past and upcoming speaking events featuring Crescent Cove staff members.
