A legacy to a life: Spreading Smiles

Sally B. was searching for a way to honor her son's life. Her son, Barry, died unexpectedly of a heart attack earlier in 2022, leaving three young children behind. He was a loving father who supported his children and their activities. Sally wanted to make a gift in his memory to a children's cause in her state of Minnesota, though her son lived in California.

She learned about Crescent Cove and asked how she could help. She decided to sponsor the ice cream truck for our Siblings Camp, writing, "I am sure Barry would want to help bring a special week to these awesome siblings."

During Siblings Camp in July of 2022, the Blue Moon Ice Cream Truck arrived to shouts and excitement from the 13 siblings who were having a fantastic time experiencing Crescent Cove. Kids selected from a variety of treats and had fun comparing their selections. We took photos and video of the kids and shared them with Sally as a way to say "thank you."

Sally was so grateful for the photos and the sharing of the kids' experiences. "This helps so much to be able to share Barry's love and joy," Sally wrote. "You all have been so warm and loving during this time, Barry would have been so pleased to know he brought a smile to these kids' faces."
