Our fourth annual Home Plate Gala was Saturday, January 30th. It provided a space to share the spirit of our mission. We are so thankful to have had Nita Killebrew, Paul and Destini Molitor, Tony and Gordette Oliva and Clyde Doepner attend and welcome guests.
The night started with warm conversation with friends new and old. Silent auction tables were filled and our ‘Home is where the heart is” punch board was ready to be played. It was easy to feel the friendships being built around conversation supporting our mission. The hope and good will for Crescent Cove was written on the faces of all of our guests.
The program was beautiful. Our friends, the founders of Ryan House children’s respite and hospice home in Phoenix, AZ gave us encouragement to continue working toward the goal of building the home for families in Minnesota. Encouragement came in video form from our friends from the UK was well. Jill Wall shared the touching and inspiring story of her daughter, Tana. We heard from the beautiful voices of singers from Benilde St. Margaret’s and Key’s 4/4 Kids. Paul Molitor, Manager of the MN Twins, Nita Killebrew and State Representative Nick Zerwas also spoke offering their unwaivering support so that we ‘level the playing field’ for kids and families!
The night was filled with hope, laughter, tears. We raised a net total of over $150,000! Thank you to our 380 guests who joined together to make that possible. We felt the encouragement from those unable to attend as well.
Next year will be the fifth Home Plate Gala for Crescent Cove, we hope you will join us January 28, 2017 at the Marriot Northwest.
