The Jason Show on Fox9 visited Crescent Cove and showed off our Home, playspace, and introduced Crescent Cove kid Thomas and his 1000 watt smile to the world.  Thanks to Kendall and Eric for visiting us and telling our story.

On June 24, 2021, Crescent Cove hosted a ribbon cutting to celebrate the opening of a new outdoor playspace for kids & families.  The all-inclusive play area features beautiful greenspace with native grasses and trees bordering a mini-baseball field with a custom scoreboard, outdoor musical instruments and the Dragonfly Tower for movement and play. Crescent Cove received a $20,000 grant from Northwestern Mutual's 2021 Community Service Award program. Northwestern Mutual recognizes financial advisors annually for their volunteer service, and provides them with a grant to offer to a nonprofit of their choice. Keith Moeller, founder and principal of Moeller Advisory Group, was recognized as a recipient of the company’s 2021 Community Service Award for his fundraising efforts and commitment to Crescent Cove.

Katie Lindenfelser describes Crescent Cove as a circle of love, a place of joy. They're not words one might expect of a hospice and respite center for children, but founder and executive director Lindenfelser said Crescent Cove strives to find balance in its work.

Crescent Cove's annual holiday gathering looked a bit different this year, shifting to an outdoor drive-thru event. Families were treated to holiday lights, cheer, treats and gifts, all from the safety of their cars.

Since its inception, Crescent Cove's mission was to open and operate the first residential respite and hospice home in Minnesota specifically designed for children. In order to reach this pinacle goal, we have:

Minneapolis (April 2018) -- Crescent Cove, a non-profit whose mission is to provide care and support for children and young adults with a shortened life expectancy, and their families who love them, is pleased to announce the establishment of an endowment fund to provide ongoing support for its mission and to honor the legacy of Twins Hall of Famer, Harmon Killebrew.

The grant will help Crescent Cove acquire equipment that includes a pediatric manual Ez-Lift, computers for the nursing staff, and an adjustable changing table. The items were requested by the organization’s nursing team and support staff to safely care for children and young adults during one of life’s most difficult times.

Crescent Cove kicked off renovations the week of July 25! 

Crescent Cove’s pediatric hospice and respite home in Brooklyn Center will be the state’s first.

On February 6, 2017 Crescent Cove Founder, Katie Lindenfelser, appeared on CCX Channel 12 News.  Thanks to Cable Channel 12 for sharing our goal to open the hospice on Twin Lakes by the Fall.

Crescent Cove founder, Katie Lindenfelser, was selected as one of JCI Minnesota’s Ten Outstanding Young Minnesotans for 2016. Katie was selected as an honoree for her contributions to children’s palliative care and her efforts to bring the Crescent Cove mission to a reality. Congratulations Katie! 

We are grateful to announce that our letter of intent to purchase an existing hospice on Twin Lakes was accepted on October 18, 2016. Our purchase agreement was fully executed on December 18th with a hoped for closing date of late February, 2017.

The gift will help Crescent Cove provide special therapeutic services needed by families facing one of life’s most difficult journeys, even as the non-profit raises funds to build the Midwest’s first residential hospice and respite center specifically for young people.

We are so excited to announce that Crescent Cove made it to the Engaged Eight level on Brackets for Good and raised almost $7,000 Dollars!

The prize? A construction excavator will lift, drop, smash, maim, mangle and demolish a minivan painted with the opponent’s team color and logo. The date/time of the grand finale demolition will be announced soon, as will the driver in the cab. Extreme Sandbox and Crescent Cove will also post the demolition video and photos on their Facebook pages. The video will be posted on YouTube as well.

Congratulations Rick Caligiuri on winning the 2015 car raffle and to his son Chris who he gave the car to, following his service to our country. What an honor to have met you both and our gratitude again to all who participated in the 2015 car raffle with over 1,000 tickets sold. Thank you also to the amazing, anonymous donor!

It’s hard to believe we are into full planning mode for the 4th Annual Home Plate Gala. It seems like just yesterday we were having fun at the last gala. This year’s gala will be held on Saturday, January 30th at the Marriott Minneapolis Northwest. Look for your “Save the Date” cards in the mail in early October, with information on registration.

Your support of our mission helps families like the Shu’s. After reaching out to check-in and see how Crescent Cove could help out we received the following email. Thousands of families are on a windy, uncertain road each day. While families are waiting for Crescent Cove’s residential hospice and respite home to be built, they are receiving some much needed ‘mini-respite’ experiences such as integrative therapies, meals and time away to be a family. We were informed that a Texas-based child care center that owns a U.S. registration for the trademark “Children’s Lighthouse” for use in connection with day care services, will be expanding into the Minnesota market. In light of this fact and in order to avoid possible future confusion between that organization and our distinct mission, it was in our best interest to change our name.
